Julie Burchill – how free is free speech?

Julie Burchill, the media commentator known for her outrageous, often offensive and contentious opinions, has stirred up another hornets’ nest. She has had her book ‘Welcome to the Woke Trials: How #Identity killed progressive politics’ due out in March, dropped by publishers Little, Brown after a row with Muslim journalist Ash Sarkar. She was accused of ‘crossing a line’ by posting ‘Islamophobic’ comments on Twitter.  Burchill had tweeted
