Carey Mulligan – mistaking her raison d’etre

A luvvie having a hissy fit is always light relief from the encircling gloom and angst. Except in the following instance it may have resulted in a decent film critic losing his job for no other reason than doing what he was paid for. Dennis Harvey writing for Vanity Fair suggested – shock horror – that Carey Mulligan might not have been the best fit for her role in Promising Young Woman, while at the same time commending her performance as “skilful and entertaining.”
