Colin Painter obituary

My father, Colin Painter, who has died aged 82, was an artist and art educator who dedicated his career to encouraging participation in the visual arts, and to bridging the gap between the fine art establishment and the general public. A brilliant communicator and hands-on organiser, Colin created many imaginative shows exploring the public’s relationship with art images.
