Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane weather: Temperatures soar on Australia's east coast sparking fire, heatwave warning

Temperatures are forecast to reach 40C in large parts of eastern Australia on Friday with the mercury expected to climb to 30C in Brisbane and Sydney .
