Service mesh: What it is and why it matters so much now

It's a new and emerging class of service manager for distributed computing -- one that can work hand-in-hand with orchestrators such as Kubernetes. The service mesh would build a "Layer 7 network" exclusively for applications. And the changes it would make could reignite old debates about network architecture.
