Reddit's emergency shutdown just freaked everyone out

Reddit is coming back online after an outage that lasted more than an hour.  The issues began around 3:26 p.m. PT, according to the site's status page, following "a slight issue with a routine software upgrade." SEE ALSO: Reddit's Olympic subreddit should be your homepage Though the company promised to be back online "momentarily," it wasn't until more than an hour later — at 4:57 p.m. PT — when they updated to say "bringing the site back slowly."  While it was down, users
