New Oscars "Popular Film" category to be introduced at the 2019 show - CNET

The Academy says the new category will be introduced at the 91st Oscar show on February 23, 2019. Movies can be eligible for both Outstanding Achievement in Popular Film and the Academy Award for Best Picture.
