China smartphone makers form alliance to offer P2P file transfer

Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi have formed a "Peer-to-Peer Transmission Alliance" to enable their mobile users to transfer files--including photos, videos, and music--without the need for third-party apps or network data.
