Many foods that are now commonplace were being prepared by our ancestors long before modern agriculture or industrialisation beganOn Monday, archaeologists revealed they had found the earliest known example of bread. The charred remains, just a few millimetres in size, were recovered from a pair of ancient fireplaces in the Black Desert, north-east Jordan.
