Boring or not, smartphones aren't going away anytime soon. Phones — specifically, Android phones — hit a new high in 2016, finally competing with the iPhone in many of the areas they usually fell short. But they're about to get even better. Like Intel's tight grip on the PC world, Qualcomm powers most of the world's best smartphones. To kick off CES 2017, the chipmaker detailed its newest processor, the Snapdragon 835, and outlined how it's going to push mobile tech forward in 2017.
