Vitamin nicotinamide riboside protects mice from diabetes complications

(University of Iowa Health Care) A naturally occurring vitamin, nicotinamide riboside, can improve metabolic symptoms and prevent peripheral nerve damage in mouse models of diabetes, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Iowa and the Iowa City VA Health Care System.
