Venus Shines Near Saturn in Dazzling Display This Weekend

On Friday (Jan. 8), the planet Venus will appear to pass close by Saturn, making this a rare opportunity to see two planets at the same time in a telescope's narrow field of view. During the planetary encounter, Venus will appear to pass just 5 arc minutes north of Saturn.
