This week from AGU: Mars' ice, Earth's mantle & 5 new research papers

(American Geophysical Union) Just beneath Mars' dirt surface, or regolith, researchers found an enormous slab of water ice, measuring 40 meters (130 feet) thick, and covering an area equivalent to that of California and Texas combined, according to a new study published today in Geophysical Research Letters.
