Nigeria's Buhari orders investigation into defence purchasing

Nigeria's president has ordered an investigation into military hardware purchases under his two predecessors to try to root out corruption and fulfil his election promise of stopping Islamist group Boko Haram's insurgency, the presidency said on Monday. President Muhammadu Buhari has told the National Security Adviser (NSA) to set up a panel to look into defence procurement over the past eight years, when the People's Democratic Party was in power, his spokesman Femi Adesina said in a statement.
