California elections officials probe voter data breach claims: Sacramento Bee

(Reuters) - California Secretary of State Alex Padilla said on Tuesday that his office was working to verify claims that confidential voter information had been exposed on the Internet, the Sacramento Bee newspaper reported. The database includes names, addresses, birth dates, party affiliations, phone numbers and emails of voters in all 50 U.S. states and Washington, said researcher Chris Vickery. Padilla said the records were not posted by the California Secretary of State, and that he was col
