A patronising 'period policy' should make women's blood boil

Women's biological processes used to keep them back from engaging in public life. Stigmatising periods was a way of arguing that women's biology held them back from being equal to men − they were irrational and untrustworthy for a week of every month and, on the whole, beholden to their emotions rather than to reason. Many feminists have come out in support of this bizarre move, claiming that it is a positive step for women to be upfront and supported during their periods.
