Space dust oddity: Oldest meteorites ever found show Earth's atmosphere was surprisingly rich in oxygen 2.7 billion years ago

Researchers at Monash University in Melbourne extracted the oldest ever space dust (pictured) from ancient limestone taken from Western Australia, and found a surprising amount of oxygen.
