Nasa's asteroid-bound spacecraft will blast off next month: Probe will scan for building blocks of life and bring samples back to Earth

OSIRIS-REx is the first U.S. mission designed to return a piece of an asteroid to Earth.
The spacecraft is scheduled to launch on September 8 at 7:05 p.m. EST aboard an Atlas V rocket.
