Coins found in Poland may have been bribe to keep Vikings from sacking Paris over 1,200 years ago

More than a hundred silver coins found in northern Poland may have been part of a payoff by Carolingian king Charles the Bald to prevent local Vikings from invading Paris in the 9th century.
