Ancient DNA traces extinct Caribbean 'island murderer' back to the dawn of mammals

From skeletal remains found among ancient owl pellets in the Caribbean, a team of scientists in London has recovered the first ancient DNA of the extinct West Indian mammal Nesophontes.
