A 47-year-old 'grandma' killer whale has gone missing from her Pacific Northwest pod

L47, the matriarch of a group of killer whale pods in the Pacific Northwest is presumed dead, marine biologists said. It's believed she was the most fertile member of the Southern Resident group.
