Jay Z claims Tidal music streaming service has hit 1 million subscribers despite Apple Music launch

It has been an uphill struggle for music streaming service Tidal since its March launch, but it has just passed a major milestone. Owner Jay Z has announced the service has broken the one million subscriber mark, despite being in the shadows of both Spotify and Apple Music. Announcing the news on Twitter with a rare tweet, Jay Z, 45, also revealed that he will be throwing a special concert in his hometown of Brooklyn on 20 October to mark the triumph.
