Jay-Z And Timbaland Face Music Over Copyright

Jay-Z is set to testify in court later - as he and fellow rapper Timbaland battle a copyright infringement lawsuit. The music moguls have been accused of misusing the melody of an Egyptian love ballad from the 1950s, Khosara Khosara, in the 1999 hit single Big Pimpin'. On the opening day of the trial, lawyers said Timbaland had used elements of Baligh Hamdi's song thinking it was royalty-free - but later paid $100,000 (£65,140) to EMI Music Arabia for the licence.
