Toronto crash: Suspect charged with killing 10 people and 13 counts of attempted murder

The driver of a van that ploughed into people on a busy downtown Toronto street has appeared in court where he was charged with 10 counts of murder and 13 counts of attempted murder.Alek Minassian of Richmond Hill, Ontario, appeared in the courtroom in Toronto wearing a jumpsuit, handcuffs, and said little except to confirm that he understood the proceedings.Mr Minassian allegedly drove “half mile to one mile” down the street, district chief for Toronto Fire Stephen Powell told CNN.
