How heatwaves make it harder to keep food cool

In a heatwave, cold chain storage has to work harder. The difference between the outside and inside air is greater, and every time anyone opens a door, heat is let in. This can lead to more energy use and greater costs. Such effects can be mitigated, however, through insulation, automation and preparedness.
