Could GLP-1 safety concerns affect uptake?

Side-effects from GLP-1 use, such as acute pancreatitis, blindness and even death, have been reported widely since the drugs became popular. But could consumer concern around these drugs reduce uptake, and therefore act as a respite for the food industry, which is under pressure to respond to the changes the drugs are creating?
