Uber pledges to be 100pc electric by 2040

Uber announced a push for electrification within the next decade, as a new report shows the carbon emissions from its rides are worse than those for private cars. Last year, rides taken from its app in the US and Canada resulted in 41pc higher emissions per passenger mile, and were 39pc less efficient than the average trip taken in a private car.
