Threat of double dip recession looms as second wave hits

Britain’s "V-shaped" recovery is coming to a premature end as the rise in coronavirus cases and new local lockdowns threaten to send GDP into reverse. It means growth nationally will slow from about 16pc in the third quarter, as the rebound got underway, to as little as 2pc in the final months of the year.
