Pubs and cafes: Relax two-metre rule or we will collapse

Crippled pubs and restaurants are pleading for a two-metre social distancing rule to be relaxed so they have a fighting chance at survival after lockdown ends. Hospitality firms have warned that they face ruin if customers must be kept this far apart and are calling for the minimum safe distance to be reduced to one metre, in line with guidance from the World Health Organisation which is being followed across much of Europe.
