Our father, Ron Jones, who has died aged 88, was a prolific artist, educator and ambassador for the visual arts.He was born in the month of the general strike in the Welsh colliery village of Aberfan. His father, Daniel, was an unemployed miner; his mother, Catherine (nee Jones), had campaigned as a young woman for the first Labour party leader, Keir Hardie.
