MoMA finishes first phase of expansion project

The Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) has completed the first phase of a $450m renovation and expansion project undertaken by the architectural firm Diller, Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler.The finished work, which occupies the east end of the museum, includes a new lounge, the extension of a Bauhaus-inspired staircase and the re-organisation of 15,000 sq. ft of space on the second and third floors to create expanded galleries.
