Every little thing Sting buys is auction magic
Sting must be walking in fields of gold after his auction at Christie’s today, 24 February, soared above its high estimate of £1.9m to make £2.5m, or £3m with fees. The most expensive lot was an abstract painting by the British Modernist Ben Nicholson from 1955, which more than doubled its low estimate to sell for £850,000 (£1m with premium).
