Art world stumps up for Hillary

One Tesla sports car stood out among the black SUVs lining the block on 21st Street between 10th and 11th avenues on 12 September as muckety-mucks gathered at the Gagosian Gallery for a Hillary Clinton fundraiser. Titled Art For Hillary, the event featured an auction arranged by Simon de Pury with some 50 works by the likes of Chuck Close, Barbara Kruger, Todd Eberle, Joyce Pensato and Cindy Sherman, all in the five-figure range.
