Senegal coach Pape Thiaw sacked after World Cup exit

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has dismissed Pape Thiaw as head coach of the Teranga Lions following the country’s exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The federation announced the decision on Sunday after Senegal’s campaign ended with a 3-2 extra-time defeat to Belgium in the Round of 32, despite leading by two goals during the match.
Thiaw, who took charge in December 2024, endured a difficult World Cup campaign. Senegal lost their opening group-stage match
