EC freezes TMC name and symbol, asks rival camps for options

The Election Commission has frozen the Trinamool Congress party name and its symbol. Rival factions must submit new name and symbol choices by Friday morning. This interim order will apply to upcoming by-elections in Nandigram and Rejinagar. The commission's decision follows similar precedents with other political parties.
