Global smartphone sales up 3.9 pc in first quarter of 2016: Gartner

 
Global sales of smartphones totaled 349 million units in the first quarter of 2016, up 3.9 per cent over the year-ago period, driven by demand for low-cost and 4G-enabled handsets, research firm Gartner said.
Smartphone sales represented 78 per cent of total mobile phone sales in the first quarter of 2016, it said in a report.
