Federal judge backs Apple’s iPhone stand in encryption fight with US govt

A federal judge in Brooklyn has ruled that the U.S. Government cannot force technology giant Apple to provide the FBI with access to iPhone data in a New York drug case. The ruling comes at a time when Apple is in fight with the FBI over access to the phone used by one of the shooters in the San Bernardino, California.
U.S. Magistrate Judge James Orenstein ruled that he did not have the legal authority to order Apple to disable the security of an iPhone that was seized during a drug investigatio
