6.4 Billion Connected ‘Things’ to be in use in 2016: Gartner

Gartner has forecasted that there will be 6.4 billion connected things in use worldwide in 2016. It says that’s 30 percent up from 2015 and is expected to reach 20.8 billion by 2020.
Gartner has estimated the Internet of Things to support services spending of $235 billion in 2016 which is a 22 percent gain from 2015. “IoT services are the real driver of value in IoT, and increasing attention is being focused on new services by end-user organisations and vendors,” said Jim Tully
