Canadian Cal Quantrill picked 8th overall by San Diego Padres at MLB draft

Canadian right-handed pitcher Cal Quantrill, son of former Toronto Blue Jays reliever Paul Quantrill, has been selected by the San Diego Padres in the first round of the MLB draft. The Philadelphia Phillies selected California high school outfielder Mickey Moniak with the No. 1 pick in the Major League Baseball draft.
