Canada's Raonic moves on at U.S. Open, Pospisil out

Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., advanced to the second round of the U.S. Open with a 6-4, 7-6 (8), 6-1 win over Tim Smyczek of the United States. Fellow Canadian Vasek Pospisil was eliminated by Andreas Haider-Maurer in five sets.
