UPDATE: Forecast now calls for brief period of 'patchy' freezing rain

The freezing rain expected this afternoon will not be as significant as originally forecasted by Environment Canada.
A Special Weather Statement had been issued, but the latest update says that the freezing rain is now not expected to last more than the two hours, which is the requirement for a freezing rain warning.
“A brief period of freezing rain is expected as a low pressure system from the Southern Plains moves toward the Great Lakes,” the forecast now says.
