Cops and Kids … and plenty of fishing fun on the Detroit River

It was not a good day to be a fish as dozens of families crowded the Windsor waterfront Sunday as part of this year’s Cops & Kids Fishing Derby.
The annual event hosted by the Windsor Police Association gives lots of local kids their first taste of landing the big one. Wriggly, squirming bait was provided, along with chips and pop for hungry beginner anglers, as fishing rods lined up thickly along the Detroit River at Assumption Park.
