Assumption Church issues tenders for new copper roof

A tender has been launched for Phase 1 of construction to refurbish historic Assumption Church, starting with a new copper roof.
Six prequalified contractors — all local — have been invited to bid on the $2.27-million project which also will include asbestos removal and a new heating system installed at the landmark 174-year-old church located at the corner of University Avenue West and Huron Church Road.
