Hogweed is spreading along the Grand River. Here's why you should avoid it

When he's not decked out in a hazmat suit digging out giant hogweed twice as tall as he is along the Grand River, he's teaching canoers, hikers and high school explorers how to avoid the invasive species. John Kemp founded the Giant Hogweed Mitigation Project. He spoke to CBC's Aastha Shetty about his goal to educate more people about this extremely toxic plant, which is growing rapidly in Waterloo region and throughout southern Ontario.
