Wine Guy: Shoulder season sippers

I love this time of year in British Columbia. There is a palpable sense of transition in the air. The air is crisper, yet the sun’s rays are still charged with warmth. The berries and other peak fruit of summer have passed, but the harvest bounty still ripens in fields. Shorts are still passable, however it’s wise to pack a jacket. It’s officially shoulder season, and my thoughts have turned to a new crop of seasonal wines — bottles with a bump of oomph and richness that
