Will I lose my house or car if I go bankrupt?

Q: I’ve gotten in over my head with my bills and it looks like my best option is to declare bankruptcy. However, I’ve just regained custody of my son and don’t want to lose my apartment or my truck for that matter because I need to get to work. My truck is nothing special but if I lose it, I don’t have money to buy another one.
