Wildfire evacuees arrive in the Lower Mainland
Dennis Binette’s voice catches and his eyes fill with tears as he describes the impact his family’s evacuation from the Williams Lake area has had on his youngest son, DJ.
“He didn’t sleep for two days,” said Binette, standing outside the Emergency Social Services reception centre for wildfire evacuees in Chilliwack on Monday morning. “He doesn’t show it, but he was stressing just as much as we were.”
