Vancouver's rental costs surge, while vacancy drops: CMHC report

Metro Vancouver has the highest rental accommodation in the country, as national vacancy rates drop, according to a Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation report.
The 2017 Rental Market Survey, released Monday, found rental rates in Vancouver surged 6.2 per cent over the last year. Kelowna rates jumped even higher at 8.6 per cent, the highest increase in the country.
