Vancouver opens warming shelters as temperatures dip below freezing

The city of Vancouver is opening a trio or warming centres Monday night in response to extreme cold weather.
The centres are activated when the temperature reaches or feels like -5 C or below. They are open to everyone, including people with pets, bikes and carts.
Environment Canada expects the temperature to drop to minus-2 in Vancouver overnight, with a windchill value of minus-6.
