Vancouver firefighters heading to B.C. interior to help out

Ten Vancouver firefighters are heading to the province’s interior to help fight wildfires.
Tuesday afternoon, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services announced six members of the city’s heavy urban search and rescue unit (called Canada Task Force-1) were being deployed to the provincial emergency operations centres in Prince George and Kamloops.
The six have “specialized incident command skills,” public information officer Capt. Jonathan Gormick said.
